October Already!
Well I have made it through half a quarter at my new job and am still going… This week is extra short due to MEA Conferences so I am looking forward to having Thursday and Friday off. Although I have already expressed concern of boredom while sitting at home for 2 days while Jon is working. I think I will spend one day working on grading and lesson plans and try to spend Saturday out and about.
Jon has been getting into the swing of things at his new job in Chanhassen. This week he is finally done with training and on his own. His shift changes each week so this week he is closing, which means he doesn’t get home until around 9pm. But next week he will be home around 4 so that will be nice.
A few weeks ago Jon and I took our first weekend trip since we moved here. Prior to this I have been feeling weighted down with school work on the weekend and not too eager to leave town for too long. But we had purchased Kathy Griffin tickets in July, so we headed to the cities. It turned out to be a terrific weekend. We spent the evening hanging out downtown Minneapolis and went to dinner at the Hard Rock Café. Kathy’s show was at the Orpheum and was two hours of funny! We then spent the rest of the weekend with Joe, Sadie and Fox in St. Paul which involved a trip to the Maplewood Mall and Olive Garden!!. I can now say that I can handle the work-load and am willing to venture out again on weekends. It is actually really nice to have some time away and I still do end up spending most of Sunday evening working on correcting tests or reading the accounting book just one day ahead of my students!
