Gophers vs. Badgers

Last Saturday Jon and I went to the Minnesota vs. Wisconsin football game at the Metrodome. We had really great tickets in the end zone about 25 rows up. It was a really good game, lots of scoring and pretty close throughout. The Badgers did end up winning 41-34 :(
Jon wore he red WI shirt and I wore my gold MN shirt and we sat in harmony! We actually got several comments from other people about being together.

Even though the home team didn't pull it out in the end we both had a really good time. Then Sunday Jon went back to the Metrodome with Joe to watch the Vikings WIN!

Here are a few picks from the game.

Here is also a picture from Thanksgiving weekend at my parents as we were working on the Christmas tree.

Peyton Manning is Married?!?

While watching the Kenny Chesney perform at the CMA awards Jon and I started talking about Peyton Manning. Then Jon mentioned something about his wife. I was adamant that there was NO WAY Peyton was married!
Why... First of all I read an article about Peyton and his family in Sports Illustrated and had seen a few personal interest stories about he and Eli on ESPN last year. Never once do I recall any mention of a wife! I could tell you about his Dad, his brother and his family, but no wife. Plus look at Peyton in all these commercials, he is kinda a dork. I just couldn’t picture it.

So I bet Jon $10 that he was not married. Well Jon got online and within minutes found out he has been married sine 2001! I thought it was fake, so I forced him to find pictures of the two of them together, which he did!

So now I own Jon $10 and I guess, I don’t know as much about football as I thought.

Limo Rides and Dances

I have had a busy few weeks at school and thought I would share what I have been up to. First of all last week I go to go with 16 of my 6th grade students on a Limo Ride. This was their prizes for selling a whole lot of frozen cookie dough for the school fundraiser. They needed a supervisor for I was lucky enough to be free that hour. The kids were so excited and kept talking about how they felt famous. I had never been in a Limo before either, so I was pretty excited about it also. We road around the cities for an hour and had pizza and pop in the limo for lunch. It was a good time, kinda squishy though.

Last Friday I supervised the school dance. This dance actually occurs right after school from 2:40-4:30 and includes a DJ, basketball, ping pong, and concessions. My duty was to “roam” mosty in the dance area. There were a lot of kids there and it was a pretty good time. I spent most of my time reminding students to have some space between them on the dance floor, but no major behavior issues. I also dealt with a crying girl who was upset that kids were making fun of her dancing (kids are mean!) I did end up getting paid $25 cash for supervising, which was an added surprise. So Jon insisted dinner was on me that night!

Next Friday is the last day of the first quarter. My students will be moving on to other classes and I will get new students. It is kind of sad to see some of them go, because right now I have pretty good classes. The only class I wish would go it home room (Extra Edge) but I have them for the whole semester  It will be nice to get to start over again. This time I have an idea of how assignments are going to go and can make any changes needed.

Tonight I am going back to the UofM to sit on a panel with my old classmates. We are talking to this years student teachers about our experience and our first jobs. I am excited to get to see how everyone it doing! (I do realize I have it pretty easy with my part-time job teaching only 2 difference classes)
After that Jon and I also have a meeting with our pastor tonight! Hopefully everything will go well, we have to discuss the answers to our survey we had to take.

Well that is my update
